Semiconductors are the backbone of microelectronic industry. This industry is expanding very fast and its development is related to new materials and devices. Millions of the scientists all over the world are engaged in the advance research work in the field of semiconductors. In India also several research groups at Universities, Engineering Institutes, Defense Research Laboratories and National Laboratories are actively engaged in developing semiconductors and devices.

For the last 20 years, the Semiconductor Society (India), “SS (I)” has been contributing effectively to bring closer the national and international scientific community by organizing national and international meets and other activities. This has also helped in identifying the various important experimental facilities existing in different laboratories. Due to close collaborations the scientist are able to conduct their experimental work in these laboratories without much difficulties. The society is committed to promote scientific development in the country.
